The Saddle Tramp Rider's Club, Inc, & the Capitaine, would like to welcome all participants to the 63rd annual Church Point Courir de Mardi Gras Run! We proudly host a "TRADITIONAL" Cajun Mardi Gras. In keeping with this tradition, the Capitaine request that all 'Mardi Gras' be dressed in FULL TRADITIONAL COSTUME (capuchon, mask & traditional outfit). Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for participating and helping to keep this truly Cajun Tradition Alive!!

WHAT NOT TO WEAR?
Please refrain from wearing jeans, non-Cajun items and/or any clothing or images that may incite violence.

Rules & Regulations for the Adult Courir Run

1. Cajun Mardi Gras Tradition requires that MEN ONLY are allowed on the Mardi Gras Run.
2. Highly recommended that runners be Fully Masked [or painted face], wearing a capuchon and in a TRADITIONAL Mardi Gras Costume. Horseback riders are allowed to wear cowboy hats and use bandanas as face coverings. Wigs will be permitted. No costume should incite violence!
3. NO GLASS Containers or Ice Chest Allowed. You will be asked to leave if caught with these items.
4. NO WEAPONS [You will be subject to A Search at any time during the RUN.]
5. No Fighting. YOU WILL GO TO JAIL.
6. No Doubling on Horses.
7. You Must Stay on Public Roads Until Permission is Given to Go Onto Private Property.
8. Disobeying the Captain, Co-Captains and Law Officers will Result in being ejected from the Run. No Refunds!
9. Anyone under 16 years of Age must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult.
10. Anyone URINATING in Public will be subject to Arrest. Port-A-Lets are provided.
11. No PROFANITY or Indecent Exposure will be Tolerated. YOU WILL GO TO JAIL IF CAUGHT.
12. Anyone Seeming to be Out of Control or TOO Intoxicated will be removed from RUN and CONTAINED!
13. Under Aged Consumption of Alcohol is not allowed and will be enforced.
14. Your 8 Drink Tickets can be used only during the Run!

All participants must remain part of the Parade that goes through the town of Church Point on Main Street, and ends at the Saddle Tramp Riders Club, 1036 E Ebey St, Church Point, LA 70525.

Float and Parade Rule


1. NO Double Deckers (a catwalk with a maximum height of 4 feet tall is permitted down the center of the float) **You will not be permitted to participate if your float does not follow the guidelines. If you are questioning whether your float is approved you can submit a picture to saddletrampridersclub@gmail.com for prior approval.

2. Registration Packet must be Completed and Submitted during Pre-Sign Up (Required Photocopies: Driver’s License, Insurance, Picture of Float)

3. Parade Permit/Placard Must be Displayed on Windshield Near Driver at All Times (Your Float will NOT be judged if this cannot be seen)

4. Driver’s are Responsible for maintaining Order and Safety of Float

5. No Vulgar or Explicit Music Allowed

6. No Profanity or Indecent Exposure

7. The Driver of Each Float will be subject to a Police Field Sobriety Test throughout the Courir/Parade.

8. NO Littering! (This does not include beads or approved throws!) *DO NOT dump your port-o-lets, or allow them to drain along the route!! Violators will be prosecuted for improper disposal of sewage; according to city, parish, and state laws!

9. NO GLASS Containers. (Open Container Law will be Enforced within the city limits of Church Point)

10. Remain in Designated Order throughout the ENTIRE event.

11. Age appropriate THROWS for Children ONLY. (NO Condoms, Undergarments, Jello-Shots, or Hazardous Materials ie. glass, dirty diapers)

12. DO NOT harshly launch throws into the crowd, please be cautious!

13. NO WEAPONS [You will be subject to A Search during the RUN.]

14. No Fighting. YOU WILL GO TO JAIL.

15. You Must STAY ON your FLOAT at all times.

16. Disobeying the Captain, Co-Captains and Law Officers will Result in being removed from the Run/Parade. No Refunds!

17. Anyone URINATING in Public will be subject to Arrest.

18. Anyone Seeming to be Out of Control or TOO Intoxicated will be removed from RUN and CONTAINED!

19. Underage Consumption of Alcohol is not allowed and will be enforced.
